Nicole and Judi getting ready for the start of Climate Ride 2014. First up: ride across the Golden Gate!
Climate Ride 2014
San Francisco to Sacramento, CA
A long 5 day trip from San Francisco, up through Napa Valley, over some coastal mountains and then down into Sacramento. We rode along the north side of SF Bay on the first day and then on up into Napa, stopping for lunch, scenic photos and short breaks.
My first Climate Ride was this one in 2014, from San Francisco to Sacramento, with 3 awesome bike leaders. Dave Snyder with @CalBike , Judi Tentor with BikeSD.org , and Andy Henshaw with @sdbikecoalition . Collaborating, riding, and raising funds for what we believe in.
Early evening camp in Napa Valley wine country. A cool-off after a warm day of riding; prelude to a nice meal and socializing with bike and climate advocates from all over the country. And then…zzzzzzz!
Pumped up to have made the finish line at the California State Capital in Sacramento, CA. It was a long, hot ride with some good hills, winds and lots of warm, humid days. From here we met with, and petitioned, California lawmakers for awareness and support of climate change legislation and related support of bicycle infrastructure throughout the state.
